Help Swansea Police Department Reach their Goal for Special Olympics

SPD has made a decision to help build more inclusive communities in the world. And they are starting right here in Illinois, supporting the more than 21,000 traditional athletes with intellectual disabilities and 9,000 Young Athletes across the state.

Swansea Police Department has committed to ‘BE COOL’ this winter as part of the 2024 Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics Illinois!

While they’re getting cold just thinking about it, they’re excited to join the thousands of warm-hearted individuals who will also be taking an icy dip this winter – all in support of these incredible athletes. If you look at it like that, a little cold is worth it – right?

They have set a personal fundraising goal, $1,500 and need your help to reach it! Any amount is appreciated – it all goes to one “cool” cause and gets us that much closer to my icy dip.

Best of all, your donation helps provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in Special Olympics programming, like year-round competition, leadership and personal development, as well as heath education. All of this works to allow each athlete to reveal their inner champion.

Donating through this site is simple, fast, and secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our Polar Plunge efforts and show your support for Special Olympics Illinois. If you would like to BE COOL alongside our team or learn more about this “official event of winter,” visit www.plungeillinois.com for all of the chilly details.

Thanks in advance for your support – and don’t forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
