The Swansea Fire Department serves the diverse communities of the Village of Swansea to provide efficient fire and rescue services and to protect life and property from fire and disasters to all residents, businesses, and visitors of our Village.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

Being a volunteer firefighter with the Swansea Fire Department allows you to discover your full potential and change your community for the better.

Duty Crew Positions: If you have three years or more experience in the fire service, you can start receiving $15 per call and training sessions.

You can provide staffing on as many days as you can. Dayside staffing covers from Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm

Volunteer Firefighters – NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. We will provide all training and certifications AT NO COST TO YOU. Once you are fully certified and trained, you have the opportunity to start earning part-time pay with our pay-per-call program.

Cadet Firefighters: This program is for those 14 – 17 years old. Learn firsthand about fire rescue while working on certifications and preparing for a future as a first responder.

Backed by some of the most talented individuals in the fire service, the Swansea Fire Department has a rich tradition. We value the history of the Swansea Fire Department, built upon the strong shoulders of our past that prepare us for future challenges.
